School Policies

The following are a few of our policies.  You will receive a parent handbook that outlines the policies in detail when you enroll.

Parkway Children’s School of Excellence is regulated by the Arizona Department of Child Care Licensure. Parkway Children’s School of Excellence has an “Open Door” policy. You are welcome to visit the school at any time. Parkway Children’s School admits children of any race, color, nationality, and ethnic origin to all of the privileges and activities made available to children at the school. Special needs children will be admitted on a case by case basis, depending on our school and staff’s abilities to help each individual child.

A Student Application must be completed with a paid registration fee (non-refundable) to secure the next available space. Once your child has been registered, an enrollment packet must be completed and returned to the school prior to your child’s first day. This enrollment packet includes all of the necessary emergency forms and child information that we need. Immunizations must also be reviewed and found current before your child may enter the school.

Upon enrolling, parents will be required to inform the school what program and which days the child will be attending.  Those days and times will be reserved for your child.  The following programs are available:

School Day (8:00am-3:00pm):
– Toddlers and Preschoolers ( 3, 4, or 5 days)

Extended Day (6:30am-6:00pm):
– Infants (5 days)
– Toddlers and Preschoolers (3, 4, or 5 days)

– Monday-Friday 8:30am-3:30am (Before Care and After Care available)

The Registration Fee is due when turning in the Student Application, then due every August thereafter. Summer Registration is due each May.

All tuition is based on reserved space and not actual attendance. Upon enrolling at Parkway Children’s School you will be required to provide the days and approximate hours that your child will attend. Your requested days and hours are then reserved for your child and payment is required.

Advanced payment is due for tuition.  Payments may be paid weekly or monthly.

Tuition includes 2 snacks and lunch.  Breakfast is served between 7:00-7:45 and is $1.00 per day.

Late fees are billed for late payments. There is no credit given for holidays, vacations, or missed days.

We require a two-week notice if you plan to withdraw your child from the program.

In order to allow our staff to enjoy the holidays with families and friends Parkway will be closed on the following holidays:

  • New Year’s Day (Close at 4 on New Year’s Eve)
  • President’s Day
  • Good Friday
  • Memorial Day
  • Fourth of July
  • Labor Day
  • 2 days for Thanksgiving
  • 2-3 days for Christmas
  • One Friday per month – Close at 4 for Teacher Development

Full tuition is charged for the weeks in which these holidays fall.

Sick children will not be permitted into school. If a child becomes sick while at school we will notify a parent or guardian and request that the child be picked up within the hour. The child cannot return to school until they have been sympton free (without the use of medications) for 24-36 hours. A child will be sent home if they have are visibly sick, has a fever of 100.3 or higher, diarrhea, has vomited, an undiagnosed rash, or any symptoms of a contagious illness. Please call the office if your child has a contagious illness so we may notify other parents. If the child is diagnosed with a contagious illness such as pink eye, strep throat, chicken pox, hand-foot-mouth disease, etc., we will need a written release from the doctor to return them to school.
